Education

In 1996, I moved to Chico to attend California State University , Chico . As a student, I interned at the Community Legal Information Center for the County Jail Legal Division. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Paralegal Certificate. Not wanting to leave Chico , I attended Cal Northern School of Law, where I earned my Juris Doctor Degree.

Experience

While attending Law School I clerked for the Butte County Superior Court where I assisted the court in all aspects of Criminal and Family Law cases. After graduating from Law School , I accepted a position with the Self Help Assistance and Referral Program (SHARP) in Butte , Glenn and Tehama Counties helping thousands of self- represented litigants prepare their cases for court.

Since coming to Amaya & Associates Attorneys at Law, I have specialized in Family Law and Criminal Defense cases. My experience with the courts and the SHARP program have given me an inside knowledge of how the courts work and how to keep legal cost down.
